Willie King Remembered
Fans of blues music are mourning the death of Alabama bluesman Willie King. He died of a heart attack Sunday at his home in Pickens County. Each year, thousands of fans traveled from all over the world to Pickens County for King’s annual Freedom Creek Festival. In an interview recorded in 2005, Willie King told WBHM’s Greg Bass the blues offered an escape.
