Last month, Carlos Izcaray (pronounced: eez-ca-RYE) became the newly appointed music director of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. Izcaray, succeeds Justin Brown who stepped down in 2012. Before he begins his official tenure, Izcaray performs as music director designate during two Masterworks concerts this weekend. WBHM’s Michael Krall spoke with Izcaray about leading the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.
