Gulf States Newsroom

The Gulf States Newsroom, a collaboration among public radio stations in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, is teaming up with Back Pocket Media to put on a live storytelling event on Tuesday.

Local Live(s) is a show that brings together journalists and community members for a night of entertainment and conversation in the Odess Theater at the Alys Stephens Center. The team of regional reporters, who cover health care, race, the economy and more, will share the stories behind the stories they’ve reported on — and how the personal and professional intersect.

The event will start at 6:30 p.m. and will also feature live music from local musicians and a reading by Alabama poet laureate Ashley M. Jones.
