The Talladega College band has returned from Washington, D.C. where it performed at the inauguration of President Donald Trump. For Talladega President Billy Hawkins, the decision was not easy. The band received financial support from across the country, and contributions to continue to flow for Alabama’s oldest, private black college.

WBHM’s Sherrel Wheeler Stewart talks with Hawkins about his decision and what the college’s participation in inauguration has meant for the institution.
