This week, we’re talking about the future of US Highway 280 in Jefferson and Shelby counties. The Alabama Department of Transportation has a plan they say will ease congestion along the highway with an elevated toll road. A group called Re-Think 280 is opposed to the idea and they’ve put forth an alternative plan. Marc Beaumont is co-chair of the group. He tells WBHM’s Bradley George that Re-Think 280’s plan is different from the state’s proposal in a number of ways.
