Alabama’s workers’ compensation law needs an overhaul. That’s the message from a Jefferson County judge who struck down the law as unconstitutional last week. Alabama has some of the lowest workers’ compensation rates in the country. If the ruling stands, it could help workers, but it would also have a big impact on employers and insurers.
