When Donald Trump was on the campaign trail, he made a promise to “make America great again.” Part of that plan involves a complete and total ban on Muslim immigrants trying to enter the United States. But what about the Muslims that already live in the U.S?

Many say they’re concerned for their own safety and the safety of their religious community and freedoms. In the week following the election, several Muslim men and women have reported being attacked or harassed by people evoking Trump’s name. Fear and anxiety are especially high among Muslims in Birmingham and the South and we talk about that with Nick Patterson, editor of the weekly newspaper Weld.
