Jefferson County Votes to File for Bankruptcy
Jefferson County Commissioner voted 4-1 this afternoon to file bankruptcy. The estimated $4.1 billion filing will be the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history. The move caps more than three years of turmoil over county finances. WBHM’s Andrew Yeager talked with reporter Kyle Whitmire of Weld for Birmingham about the situation.
