The poor economy has dealt a serious blow to some Alabama nonprofit organizations. One group that serves children with autism and severe emotional disabilities is feeling the pain even more. Every year for the past few decades, Glenwood’s major fundraiser has been a pecan sale at the holidays. This past December, the nuts were sold at Brunos supermarkets. But Brunos never passed along the proceeds and the company has now declared bankruptcy, meaning Glenwood will have to line up with all the other creditors and may get only pennies on the dollar. WBHM’s Tanya Ott talked with Glenwood’s Greg Carlson about the situation.
