Vahini Shori

WBHM Faith & Culture Reporter

Vahini Shori covers faith and culture for WBHM as a Report for America Corps Member. She explores how religion is practiced in Alabama and how different faiths manifest in the state’s social fabric.

Vahini loves everything about audio, and feels lucky to report on a fascinating beat in a vibrant city. Before WBHM, she worked as a production associate at Kaleidoscope, a small-podcast shop telling global stories. She is a proud alumna of Columbia Journalism School and Rutgers University.

Vahini was born and raised in the greatest place in the world: New Jersey. You can talk to her about it anytime. She loves The Sopranos and misses not having to pump her own gas. In her free time you can find her at the movies, trying new recipes, and speed reading to catch up to her Goodreads reading goal.

Wednesday marks the 60th anniversary of Daniels’ killing at the hands of an Alabama county official. Today, the Episcopal Church venerates Daniels as a saint and martyr. For the anniversary, Episcopalians from around the country gathered for an annual pilgrimage to the site of his death in Hayneville.
