Andrew Gelderman hosts All Things Considered and works as a reporter for WBHM.

Originally from Tallahassee, Florida, Andrew Gelderman earned his bachelors and masters in Communication from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Before coming to WBHM, Andrew edited podcasts for iHeartRadio and worked as a producer for Birmingham Mountain Radio. Andrew is a former WBHM Reflect Alabama fellow who spent ten months working as news producer for KTNA, a rural NPR station in Talkeetna, Alaska.

When not hosting All Things Considered, Andrew can be found looking for a new place to hike, a new recipe to cook, or a new book to read.

Breaking down Alabama’s CHOOSE Act

It’s been a year since Alabama legislators passed the CHOOSE Act allowing families to apply for state funds to use towards homeschool expenses and tuition for participating private schools. The Alabama Daily News’ education reporter Trisha Powell Crain has been diving into how the funds are being used. WBHM’s Andrew Gelderman sat down with her to talk about what we’re seeing so far.
