Birmingham Mayoral Debate 2021
On August 17, 2021, al.com partnered with WBHM, The Birmingham Times, CBS 42, Summit Media and the Birmingham Association of Black Journalists to host a virtual Birmingham mayoral debate to provide voters the information they may need to decide which candidate deserves their vote.
The candidates included Mayor Randall Woodfin, former Mayor William Bell, Lashunda Scales, Cerissa Brown, Chris Woods, Ervin Hill II, and Darryl Williams.
And the debate was hosted by WBHM’s Janae Pierre and included panelists Roy S. Johnson (AL.com), Barnett Wright (the Birmingham Times), Sherri Jackson (BABJ/CBS42), Cody Short (WBHM) and Sheila Smoot (Summit Media). The Birmingham mayoral election is August 24, 2021.
