School Closures or Early Dismissals Due to Possible Severe Weather
Below is a list of Alabama schools that have announced after-school closures or early dismissals because of possible severe weather Thursday, April 18.
Schools / Universities:
Alabaster City Schools – After-school care and activities will end at 5:30 p.m.
Bevill State Community College – Early dismissal at 2 p.m.
Birmingham City Schools – All after-school activities, athletic events, and after-school care are canceled
Hale County Schools – Early dismissal at 1:30 p.m.
Huntsville City Schools – All after-school activities and evening activities, including extended day and school board meeting are cancelled
Madison City Schools – All after-school activities are canceled
Madison County Schools – All after-school activities are canceled
Vestavia Hills City Schools – Two hour early dismissal; Closing schools on Friday, April 19, for Inclement Weather Day (note: the early dismissal and closing on Friday was pre-scheduled
Winfield City Schools – Early dismissal at 2 p.m.
