The Great Recession hit the construction industry hard. But the economic environment hasn’t been the only thing holding the sector back. Talk to some industry leaders and they’ll say productivity has dropped off, innovation is down and waste is endemic. But some new thinking is looking to shake those problems and possibility make Birmingham an even bigger hub for the construction industry.
