Schools Close Early Because of Severe Weather
A number of Birmingham area schools have announced early dismissals or schedule changes because of anticipated severe weather.
They include:
Creative Montessori School — Closing at 1 p.m.
Birmingham City Schools — Canceled all after school activities and events.
St. Clair County Schools — All afternoon activities have been canceled.
Winfield City Schools — dismissal at 11 a.m. with no after school activities.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham says severe storms are possible this afternoon and evening with damaging winds, hail and tornados.
