Barring a stay from the U.S. Supreme Court, probate courts around Alabama will begin offering marriage licenses to same-sex couples on Monday, February 9. But Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore sent a letter to probate judges this week telling them they’re not required to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
