Andrew Downs, a double bass player attending the Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA), recently appeared on the NPR’s From the Top. The goal of the weekly radio series is to showcases the nation’s most outstanding young classical musicians. The program was recorded in November of this year in Greenville, South Carolina and is being distributed to public radio stations this week.

Downs, age 17, spoke with WBHM’s Program Director Michael Krall about his appearance on the program and about the double bass itself.
