Doctor Mark Wilson says he wasn’t looking for a new job, but on October first he’ll take the helm of the Jefferson County Health Department as the new county health officer. Wilson has been chief of staff at Cooper Green Mercy Hospital. He says the county health department has a great track record. But Wilson takes over at a time when Jefferson County’s finances are shaky.
