These days, author John Grisham isn’t touting a new book, but rather, a new movie. Grisham wrote the screenplay and even has a minor acting role in the new film “Mickey,” a story about hard times, transition and little league baseball. “Mickey” was shown recently in Birmingham — one of only a handful of southern cities. WBHM’s Steve Chiotakis spoke with Grisham about why dads are so bummed out when their little league ball-playing sons turn twelve.

(The premiere of “Mickey” took place on Wednesday, May 5 at the Alys Stephens Center with proceeds benefiting the Literacy Council of Central Alabama.)
