Some Schools Delay As Cold Continues To Grip Alabama

A number of schools in the Birmingham area will have delayed starts Wednesday after ice, snow and cold temperatures struck the area. They include:

Alabaster City Schools: 2-hour delay

Attalla City Schools: 2-hour delay

Bessemer City Schools: 1-hour delay, virtual learning only

Bevill State Community College: closed

Blount County Schools: 2-hour delay

Chilton County Schools: 2-hour delay

Etowah County Schools: 2-hour delay

Gadsden City Schools: 2-hour delay

Gadsden State Community College: opens at 11 a.m.

Hoover City Schools: 2-hour delay

Jefferson County Schools: virtual learning only, starts at 9:30 a.m.

Lawson State Community College: Opens at 10 a.m.

Leeds City Schools: 2-hour delay

Pelham City Schools: 2-hour delay

Shelby County Schools: 2-hour delay

Wallace State Community College: Opens at 10 a.m.
