Charles Todd Henderson was set to become Jefferson County’s next district attorney on Tuesday. Instead, he held a press conference and declared his innocence on one count of perjury. That felony count prevented Henderson from taking office, leading some Henderson supporters to cry it’s a politically-motivated persecution.
