The nomination of Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions to the office of U.S. Attorney General is causing controversy among civil rights groups. Several members of the NAACP staged a sit-in protest at Sessions’ office in Mobile Tuesday demanding to speak with the senator before being arrested later that evening. Sessions’ civil rights track record is on trial and is likely to remain a topic of conversation until his confirmation hearing.
