What Trump Could Mean for the Steel and Coal Industries

Steel and coal built Birmingham, but those legacy industries today are nowhere near their historic glory. That’s particularly true the last couple of years with layoffs at U.S. Steel and Walter Energy’s bankruptcy. It’s an unsure future for these sectors but they’re also the businesses President-elect Donald Trump is promising to revive. We hear about that, along with comments a Brookings Institution researcher made on a recent trip to Birmingham, in this week’s Magic City Marketplace.
