The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory starting at 9 o’clock for the northern half of Alabama including Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Gadsden and Anniston as snow is expected to fall across the state today. The National Weather Service in Birmingham says rain will transition to snow beginning this morning over western portions of the state. Birmingham could see snow by midday with areas to the east getting snow after that. Less than an inch of accumulation is expect although isolated spots could see more. Snowfall totals could top a couple of inches in northern parts state.

Cullman City — dismissing at noon.
Cullman County — dismissing at noon.
