Birmingham Expects a Boost from National Civil Rights Designation

President Obama is expect to declare the Birmingham Civil Rights District a national historic monument before he leaves office next month. It would put many notable civil rights locations, such as the 16th Street Baptist Church, under the umbrella of the National Park Service.
