A Closer Look at Alabama’s New High School Diploma

 

In 2013, state schools superintendent Tommy Bice introduced several new programs to Alabama’s public schools as part of the state’s “Plan 2020.” The plan is designed to help Alabama students become better-prepared graduates. One important part of the plan is the new Alabama High School Diploma, which will affect this year’s freshmen class. While some school officials are excited about the new diploma, saying it will give students more options, some foreign language teachers see drawbacks.

WBHM’s intern Amy Strong reports on the changes and challenges the Class of 2017 will face.
