Alabama and the Oil Spill: Environmental Justice

This week (Dec 15), environmental leaders from across the country will meet in Washington for the White House Environmental Justice Forum. The gulf oil spill will be front and center, especially for folks like LaTosha Brown. She’s executive director of the Gulf Coast Fund for Community Renewal and Ecological Health. The community-led philanthropic organization formed after Hurricane Katrina. LaTosha Brown says they learned a lot from the hurricane, including the importance of stronger community networks that can work across state lines. Brown tells WBHM’s Tanya Ott that trust is a major issue with the gulf oil spill.
