As a band, the Cowboy Junkies sound is a combination of many music genres: country, folk, blues, and rock. The group’s style is hypnotic and intense. As guitarist and songwriter Michael Timmins tells WBHM’s Michael Krall, the Cowboy Junkie’s vibe came about, in part, as they were rehearsing in a garage when a neighbor complained.
Cowboy Junkies play Friday night, March 8, at UAB’s Alys Stephens Center.
One note: The Alys Stephens Center sponsors programming on WBHM, however the station’s business and news departments operate independently.
